A new milestone for the COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin as the state surpassed 30-thousand total cases Friday.
State health officials report 579 new cases, up slightly from the past few days and the fourth highest single-day total since the pandemic began.
A total of 10,186 tests were analyzed, increasing the percentage of positive test results to 5.7-percent.
The seven-day average for daily new cases has been on the rise over the past two weeks, reaching a new record of 510.
Deaths from the virus also increased three people Friday, bringing that total to 796.
Over 24-thousand cases have recovered, with 5,473 remaining active. Current hospitalizations statewide for COVID-19 are at 244, up 8 patients from Thursday.
