Racine County Sheriff’s deputies have rescued a man who was stuck in a muddy hole on the side of a cliff at a lakeside park.
At 9:21 Tuesday morning, Dillon Armstrong called 9-1-1 saying he was stuck on a cliff at Cliffside Park in Racine, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson. Armstrong said his phone was about to lose power, and the call was eventually disconnected.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, the Water Patrol, and training division team members all responded and found Armstrong about 45 minutes later, seven feet below the top of the eroded cliff, with his right leg stuck in a mud-filled hole.
Deputy Jared Kroll then used a throw rope to reach Amrstrong, dug him out of the hole, and safely brought him to the top of the cliff.
Nobody was hurt.
