There may not be a Wisconsin State Fair this year due to COVID-19, but as State Fair Park officials emphatically stated today, “Yes! There will be cream puffs!”
Crews at State Fair Park and other locations around Wisconsin will sell cream puffs on the original dates of the fair, August 6-16.
“At the core of our State Fair mission, we are built upon celebrating everything Wisconsin is so proud to showcase,” said Kathleen O’Leary, Wisconsin State Fair Park CEO in a statement.
“While we can’t gather this year for the 169th Wisconsin State Fair due to the safety issues surrounding COVID-19, we want to safely offer select Fair staples, otherwise known as the State Fair Necessities,” she added. “We will kick off the State Fair Necessities with the iconic signature food of the Wisconsin State Fair, the Original Cream Puff, as we just couldn’t imagine a year without them.”
The following are the dates and locations of cream puff sales:
– Wisconsin State Fair Park, Aug. 6-9 and 13-16, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. (Thu.-Sat.) and 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sunday)
– Festival Foods in Appleton, Kenosha, Madison, Aug. 10-12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The State Fair will also set up deliveries of cream puffs for companies who wish to buy five dozen or more cream puffs, and will host a Virtual Cream Puff 5k event for runners.
