MILWAUKEE- The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday to uphold DACA, also known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, allows hundreds of thousands of young immigrants to breathe a sigh of relief for the first time in more than two years.
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, there were 6,600 DACA recipients in Wisconsin at the end of 2019, many of them in high school and college.
One of those recipients is Julio Cesar Ramos, a 26-year-old man from Milwaukee. He tells WTMJ he has been on the program for four years.
