A Shorewood attorney is now facing a felony hate crime enhancement of a misdemeanor charge, as well as a separate felony charge after a series of incidents that includes spitting in the face of a Black Lives Matter protester.
Stephanie Rapkin, 64, faces charges of:
– Disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer
– Battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer
If she is convicted, she faces up to seven years behind bars and $20,000 in fines.
Rapkin is seen on video (above) allegedly spitting in the face of a Shorewood teen last weekend. She also is accused of attacking a Shorewood Police officer who was on the scene of a protest near her home.
Note: The District Attorney’s office sent a criminal complaint correcting their earlier statement which said eight combined years imprisonment.
