MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Severe weather did not deter protesters who marched around the state Capitol Tuesday night as heavy rain and powerful winds moved into Madison.
A downpour briefly halted the protest against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, but hundreds of chanting demonstrators regrouped and continued the protest.
State Street near the Capitol was quieter overnight Tuesday in contrast to the looting and property damage that occurred on previous nights.
And we’re back, and so are hundreds of protesters now that the rain and wind have died down. Day No. 4 of #GeorgeFloydProtests pic.twitter.com/hKuMDohOJg
