Floral shops are thankful for curbside pick-ups and deliveries during the statewide shutdown, but seeing customers walk through their doors again is something they’ve been waiting months for.
“Most of our sales and everything come in through phones and websites,” said Rhonda Deaver, owner of Snapdragon Flowers of Elm Grove. “We just started gaining traction of people coming in.”
Deaver says despite missing out on big holidays like Easter and Mother’s Day, they were able to keep pace with previous years.
“We did a lot at the door, taking orders, putting things out and picking up,” she said. “The response was tremendous.”
And as people start to emerge from shutdown orders, she says they’re ready to brighten anyone’s day.
“I do believe flowers, plants make a big difference on people’s moods and attitudes and can cheer people up,” Deaver said.
