Three road construction projects are set to begin this week across southeast Wisconsin.
One will be on County Highway M in Waukesha County. The county’s Department of Public Works says phase one of construction, to expand the highway from two to four lanes, will focus on the segment from Calhoun Road to just east of Pilgrim Road this year. The second part of this phase will see the expansion reach 124th Street sometime in 2021.
The road will remain open, but the speed limit will be reduced and there will be lane closures and restrictions at times. People are encouraged to find an alternative route.

The Wisconsin DOT says they will have crews doing maintenance work on nine bridges on I-43 in northern Milwaukee County. Five will be around Silver Spring Drive, three will be near Lexington Avenue, and one will be over the Milwaukee River near Hampton Avenue.
People driving on the interstate should expect to see temporary lane closures, as well as access blocked to certain entrance and exit ramps at times.

The Milwaukee Department of Public Works says a high impact paving project will take place on West Lincoln Avenue between 35th and 43rd streets starting Monday, weather permitting, and last two days.
Work on day one will see the existing pavement removed with new pavement placed between 35th and the railroad tracks just before 43rd. Work on day two will see new pavement placed west of the tracks.
Traffic and parking on Lincoln will be closed off when crews are at the scene, but access to local businesses will remain.
