After several days of growth, Sunday’s daily number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin went down.
Department of Health Services officials say 356 tests came back positive, the first drop in five days. The total number of positive cases statewide is 12,543.
Over 5,800 tests were analyzed Sunday, meaning the percentage of those coming back positive was 6.1-percent. That is down from 8.3-percent Saturday.
The department reported no deaths due to COVID-19 Sunday, leaving the statewide total at 453.
The number of cases and deaths in southeast Wisconsin counties include:
- Dodge: 105 cases, 1 death
- Fond du Lac: 139 cases, 3 deaths
- Jefferson: 60 cases, 2 deaths
- Kenosha: 838 cases, 18 deaths
- Milwaukee: 4,973 cases, 234 deaths (numbers from Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services)
- Ozaukee: 122 cases, 11 deaths
- Racine: 1,017 cases, 18 deaths
- Sheboygan: 69 cases, 3 deaths
- Walworth: 280 cases, 12 deaths
- Washington: 148 cases, 4 deaths
- Waukesha: 476 cases, 23 deaths
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Health Department says the two community COVID-19 testing sites at UMOS and Midtown Center will see reduced hours starting Monday (May 18).
They will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday through Saturday. The sites will be closed Sundays. They will continue to operate as long as a demand is needed.
