All staff and inmates at the Fond du Lac County jail are being tested for COVID-19 after two inmates tested positive in the last week.
The first positive case came Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from a person who was already under house arrest with Huber privileges and was being monitored by a GPS device.
That person continues to recover at home following isolation protocols, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
The second positive case came back Friday, May 15, 2020 on a male inmate who was tested during an initial 14-day quarantine – a procedure that all new inmates are required to undergo.
That person remains asymptomatic and on isolation protocol. The police agency that arrested and took the person to jail has also been notified.
The Fond du Lac County Public Health Department and Advanced Correctional Healthcare are now working to test all inmates and employees at the jail.
