MILWAUKEE- The number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to increase, but physicians on the front line say it’s to be expected.
“What we are seeing now is the benefit of increased testing,” says UW-Health’s Dr. Jeff Pothoff. “As we start expanding testing you’re going to see more positive cases but I think the number we need to watch is the percent of total tests that come back positive compared to before.”
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, state labs can process nearly eleven-thousand swab tests per day, however not all labs are testing at their full capacity.
