Sussex Hamilton and St. Francis’ school districts are closing their doors for in-person classes.
Regarding Sussex Hamilton, Superintendent Doctor Paul Mielke says the closure will begin Monday, March 16. It will extend through the scheduled spring break of March 27. Y-Care programs will also close operations.
To make up for lost instruction hours, students in grade 7 through 12 will need to take virtual learning days on March 17 and 18, which will include online attendance and school work. All other students will not need to make up hours.
To assist students who will need food during this closure, the district will provide a five-day supply of bag lunches for pick up Monday, the 16th, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Hamilton High School’s cafeteria. Cost for each lunch will be the same for students, depending on which building they attend and if they are eligible for free or reduced prices.
Regarding St. Francis, district leaders say all activities at their buildings will stop March 14, and will not resume until April 13. Families and staff will receive employment and instruction details in the near future.

More than a dozen north shore Milwaukee-area school districts have decided to close their doors from Monday until April 10. They include a geographic range from Germantown to Port Washington to Shorewood.

Numerous schools around Southeastern Wisconsin are closing their doors to make sure students, teachers and staff are safe in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic.
Waukesha County
The Elmbrook School District has decided to move to online teaching starting Monday.
The Menomonee Falls School District has done the same. The Merton School District is closing on March 13 and re-evaluating for future days.
They are located in Waukesha County, where one confirmed coronavirus case has happened.
Marquette University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater and other universities made similar decisions earlier in the week.
