The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says there are now seven active cases of coronavirus this week, after two people from Dane County contracted it.
The state says they came in contact with someone who had a confirmed case earlier this week.
The state says both those patients have been isolated at home.
“This brings the total of confirmed cases to seven in just one week. As we see more cases, we remain vigilant in our efforts to prevent the spread of infection to others in the community,” said State Health Officer Jeanne Ayers in a statement.
“These cases should serve to remind all of us about the importance of social distancing and maintaining good hygiene to prevent the spread of the disease.”
The Governor put out a public health emergency Thursday morning in the wake of the cases.
One person who contracted coronavirus from our state has already recovered.
