MILWAUKEE- Visit Milwaukee CEO Peggy Williams Smith has only been on the job for three months and in that time jumped right into helping plan for the biggest summer, maybe ever, in Milwaukee.
Speaking to WTMJ following an event providing the latest update on the Democratic National Convention, Williams-Smith said they’re right where they want to be five months out.
“When talking with other conventions, we are actually ahead of schedule,” Smith said. “Visit Milwaukee was very involved in the bidding process [for the convention], so they’ve been working on a plan since before it was even announced.”
Williams-Smith and WTMJ’s Mike Spaulding also discussed VISIT’s strategic plan when it comes to putting Milwaukee’s best foot forwards, and how organizers are balancing a summer that also includes Northwestern Mutual’s annual convention, Summerfest, and the Ryder Cup golf tournament.
