The return of snow to southeast Wisconsin has brought with it a number of traffic accidents and difficult driving conditions.
For about a half hour Sunday, all lanes of 94 WB at 124th Street were blocked as road crews in Waukesha County worked to clear away snow in this part of the interstate.
“Basically all the roads in southeastern Wisconsin are about 100-percent covered with snow right now,” says Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Jesse Ritka as of 4 p.m. Sunday. “While the snow may be stopping between about 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., the roads are going to take a little longer to be clearing off.”
The City of Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works has issued a Snow Emergency for Sunday night. That means parking, where allowed on side streets, will have to be on the odd numbered side of the street between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday. No parking is allowed on aerials.
People looking for a place to park in Milwaukee overnight can used select Milwaukee Public School lots starting at 7 p.m. They must be moved from the lot by 7 a.m. Monday. A list of locations can be found here.
Garbage and recycling will not be picked up in Milwaukee Monday as trucks will be used to assist with snow removal operations.
