One year ago today, tragedy struck for the Milwaukee Police Department.
Officer Matthew Rittner was shot and killed on February 6, 2019 during a police raid on the Milwaukee’s south side.
Milwaukee Police Chaplain George Papachristou says the anniversary of his death will impact all officers, especially those that knew him best.
“Our officers have become accustomed to reaching out for the help that they need on a regular basis,” Papachristou tells WTMJ’s Tony Bettack.
Jordan Fricke, the man who shot and killed Rittner, is serving life without parole.
