Update: 4:45 p.m.
Governor Tony Evers joined WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Morning News and talked about his state’s main effort to both treat coronavirus victims and keep the public safe from the virus.
“We meet regularly with our state department of health services…we will continue to do that. It is all about making sure we collect the right information and responsibly get that information out to the public,” said the Governor.
“Making sure people understand it is a risk, but it is a low risk.”
He said there certainly could be events which would cause the state to give even greater warning to the public.
“If indeed there were several people traveling from China and made it up here to Wisconsin. If they had exposure to a lot of people…that is where it becomes a significant issue.”
Original report:
A report says that four people from Wisconsin are the newest group of individuals to be tested for coronavirus.
The Wisconsin Department of Health tells WTMJ partner TODAY’S TMJ4 that each person being tested has similar symptoms to those involving coronavirus. Health officials are conducting further tests.
One person from the state has a confirmed case of coronavirus.
The state continues to say they are mainly concerned with people who have had direct contact with people who are confirmed to have the virus, and individuals who have traveled to areas where it has been found.
