MILWAUKEE- Online court records show that former Milwaukee Police officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown was released from prison on Tuesday, February 4th.
Heaggan-Brown was serving a three year sentence after he was convicted of several felonies including solicitation of prostitutes and false imprisonment. He was sentenced back in February of 2018 after pleading guilty a month prior.
Heaggan-Brown shot and killed Sylville Smith in August of 2016, sparking several days of riots in Milwaukee’s Sherman Park Neighborhood. He was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing in Smith’s death.
