A pregnant woman is dead after a drive-by shooting at a bus on Milwaukee’s north side early Saturday morning.
Milwaukee Police say it took place just after 2:30 a.m. when the bus was parked on the 4300 block of North 60th Street facing southbound with passengers inside.
As a silver four-door sedan traveling southbound passed, someone inside fired five or six rounds from its sunroof. The vehicle continued to flee on 60th Street.
One of the passengers, a 35-year-old pregnant woman, was struck by the gunfire. The bus transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Doctors were able to perform an emergency C-section on the woman to deliver the child. The child is in stable condition at last word.
Police are continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact them at 414-935-7360 or Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-8477.
