A snow emergency continues in the City of Milwaukee for Sunday night.
The Department of Public Works says the declaration will allow road crews to continue clearing away snow as best as possible that fell Friday night and Saturday morning.
That means from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday all streets that allow street parking will have to be on the odd number side of the street. It is recommended vehicles to be flush to the curb and out of the flow of traffic. Parking is not allowed on arterials and major roadways. The DPW reminds people to follow signs posted on streets and their directions.
Those looking for a place to park and can’t do it on a street can do so in seven parking lots at Milwaukee Public School locations. Parking can begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, but the vehicles will need to be moved before 7 a.m. Monday.
More details can be found at milwaukee.gov/snowparking.
Those who do not follow winter parking rules will be subject to a citation. Saturday night saw the DPW issuing nearly 3,800 citations, which is slightly less than the number issued during the last snow emergency one weekend ago. There were 142 second violators, resulting in a $100 citation.
