Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies had to close two area freeways Saturday morning due to icy conditions, and the department was telling drivers to simply not drive at all Saturday.
We’re asking the public to stay off the roads and the highway. Driving conditions are extremely hazardous.

One involved a closure of I-43 northbound Saturday morning after a crash.
The crash involved a semi truck going northbound at about 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
Crews were diverting traffic off at Good Hope Road.
The second crash happened on I-41 northbound near Mayfair Road, leading to the complete closure of that freeway.
MCSO is reporting another over turned semi on I-41 US 45 northbound at Mayfair Rd, due to extremely icy and hazardous road conditions. All traffic is being diverted off the highway at Watertown Plank Rd. Please slow down or move over and expect delays.
