Speed and alcohol are being considered factors in Milwaukee’s first fatal accident of 2020.
Milwaukee Police say the two-vehicle accident took place on the 4400 block of North 35th Street around 2:55 a.m.
Their preliminary investigation determined a vehicle traveling southbound on 35th was going at a high rate of speed when it lost control. It then struck another vehicle in the northbound lane near Congress.
A 27-year-old Manitowoc woman died at the scene. A 28-year-old Manitowoc man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Police arrested a 44-year-old Milwaukee man for allegedly causing the accident. They continue to investigate.
Charges are expected in the near future.
