Recruitment efforts continue for the 2020 Census in Milwaukee.
The U.S. Census Bureau will host the following eight “Applicant Day” recruiting events this week:
December 30:
- Greater Milwaukee City Tax Days, 200 East Wells Street, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Capital Library, 3969 North 74th Street, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
- Martin Luther King Library, 310 West Locust Street, from noon until 3 p.m.
December 31:
- Goodwill Workforce Connection Center, 6055 North 91st Street, from 9:30 a.m. until noon
January 2:
- Wauwatosa Library, 7635 West North Avenue, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
- MATC – Owen’s Place, 4610 West Fond Du Lac Avenue, from 1 until 3 p.m.
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 1531 West Vliet Street, from 1 until 4 p.m.
January 3:
- Tippecanoe Library, 3912 South Howell Avenue, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Those people who are selected for a possible job will be placed in an applicant poll for positions that will open up as the Census takes place next spring. Those positions open when the bureau needs people to conduct door-to-door efforts to collect responses from those who do not fill out their forms online, by phone or by mail.
Pay for these positions will range from $17 to $24 an hour.
