The U.S. Census Bureau is hosting a dozen recruitment events this week in Milwaukee to find people who can assist with next year’s 2020 Census.
Recently, the bureau raised the pay for Wisconsin workers, which will range from $17 to $24 an hour.
People who apply are placed in an applicant pool for positions they are qualified for, which they will be notified of when jobs become available.
Census takers will be responsible for working door-to-door to collect responses from those who do not respond to the 2020 Census form online, by phone, or mail.
