One juvenile is in custody in connection to the recent theft of vehicles from northeast Waukesha County following a high-speed pursuit September 13, 2019.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office says they have performed more targeted patrols in the Village of Sussex, the City of Pewaukee, and the Town of Lisbon due to the recent increase of vehicle entries and thefts.
A deputy found three of the stolen vehicles traveling south on Highway 164 around 3 a.m. Friday. They merged onto I-94 westbound and were traveling at speeds over 100 miles-per-hour, which led deputies to pursue them.
The pursuit continued into Delafield, where one vehicle exited the interstate onto County Highway C southbound. The vehicle was stopped after a sheriff squad performed a successful PIT maneuver, forcing the vehicle into the ditch.
A female suspect inside the vehicle was taken into custody. Two other suspects, believed to be males, were able to flee the scene. A perimeter was established to find them, but was unsuccessful. A short time later Delafield Police received reports of attempted vehicle entries into unlocked vehicle nearby. No word if there were any arrests.
The two other vehicles part of the initial pursuit were able to enter Jefferson County on I-94. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office says the suspects were not apprehended and believe they are no longer in the county.
