A 3-day speed enforcement wave in Racine County netted 81 total speeders through the construction zone along I-94.
From Aug. 16 – Aug. 18, Racine County sheriff’s deputies were deployed to the interstate with an emphasis on speeding violators.
Two speeders were pulled over traveling more than 100 miles per hour, while two more were traveling 95-99 miles per hour.
“These speeds are dangerous for everyone,” Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said in a release. “The few minutes that you may save by speeding is not worth the risk.”
Sheriff’s officials also reported three drug related arrests, as well as 35 other citations for various traffic and equipment offenses.
