The man arrested for allegedly driving drunk, running a red light and killing Milwaukee Police officer Kou Her has four convictions for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, including one in which he reportedly also ran a red light.
The Milwaukee County Jail booking log, as cited by the Journal Sentinel, says that Dante James was booked for alleged homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle in 2017 on the same street he was driving on when he allegedly killed Officer Her.
The Journal Sentinel says the victim in the 2017 case was in a coma for five weeks and had a traumatic brain injury.
James received an amended judgment on the fourth conviction on May 7, 2018 and has been on probation for the case.
Besides his OWI convictions, he also has convictions for possession of a firearm by a felon, escape-criminal arrest and cocaine possession.
