Over a half dozen emergency units spent several hours this Memorial Day searching for a possible person yelling for help at the New Munster Wildlife Area, but no one was found.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office says they got a report around 11:36 a.m. May 27, 2019 that a subject was yelling for help around the 8500 block of County Road KD, which is 352nd Avenue.
They and other units responded to the wildlife area and spend just over four hours searching the 1226 acre area. Drones, K9 units, and ATVs were used to assist in the search as well as officers and responders on foot.
It was called off around 3:46 p.m. with no one found in need of help.
Those units that responded included the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, the Village of Twin Lakes Police Department, the Town of Wheatland Fire Department, the Village of Twin Lakes Fire and Rescue, the Town of Randall Fire Department, the Village of Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue, the Town of Paris Fire and Rescue, and the Newport Township Fire Department
The sheriff’s office is encouraging the public to report anything suspicious to their local law enforcement.
