A flash flood watch issued by the National Weather Service will go into effect at 7 p.m. tonight and run until 7 a.m. Saturday morning for Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Washington counties.
“Rain spreads across the area this morning with a few rumbles of thunder possible. It will rain much of the morning with up to 1″ of rain possible. We should see a lull in the rain this afternoon before more thunderstorms arrive tonight after 7pm,” says Storm Team 4 meteorologist Brian Niznansky.
“There is a chance a few of the storms this evening will be severe. Storms with heavy rain are likely tonight through tomorrow morning. We could see another widespread 1-2” of rain tonight, with locally higher amounts. Besides a stray shower, the faucet should turn off Saturday afternoon through Sunday. More rain and storms are likely for Memorial Day.”
