A man holding a swastika sign was spotted on the UWM campus Monday.
He was seen near an event where students were celebrating Israel Independence Day. According to the Jewish Chronicle and local television reports, the man claimed he was holding the sign as a publicity stunt.
Pictures and videos of the man were quickly captured on social media.

When reached for comment, a UWM spokesman told WTMJ: “As a public university, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee respects everyone’s right to free speech, even when it is speech that we disagree with.
