A man who served Wisconsin in Congress for 10 years has died.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Jim Moody has passed away at the age of 83. He was living in Maryland when he died Friday.
Moody, a Democrat, represented a region of Milwaukee in the U.S. Congress from 1982-92.
As the Journal Sentinel recounts, he also served the Wisconsin State Senate in 1979 after running for state Assembly. He ran for U.S. Senate in 1992, losing to Russ Feingold in the Democratic primary.
He was known for being a fiscal conservative, but social progressive on numerous issues as well.
