Milwaukee’s search for a new city flag remains stagnant.
In front of a packed audience during the city’s Steering and Rules Committee meeting at City Hall, the Milwaukee Arts Board provided its findings, calling for a new search.
That’s despite the popularity dubbed the People’s Flag of Milwaukee.
“There isn’t a consensus right now. The goal of the process is to achieve a consensus,” said Alderman Nic Kovac during the meeting.
The committee directed three aldermen to outline a path forward with the City Clerk to determine the next course of action.
That action could be to issue a request for new designs and proposals, or to move forward on deciding upon the People’s flag itself.
No timeline has been determined.
