Milwaukee Police say an officer is in stable condition after nearly dying when struck by a vehicle while on traffic patrol duty.
Officer Alberto Figuera was injured at about 9:30 p.m. Monday near the corner of North 24th Street and West Capitol Drive.
Police say the vehicle involved struck the officer while going westbound on Capitol. The people in the vehicle involved then got out and fled the scene on foot. Three people have been placed into custody in the case.
The officer did not have a pulse, but was revived by rescuers on scene. He is in stable condition, but as a police spokesperson said, “will be laid up for months.”
