Hundreds of people from across the state said a painful good-bye Saturday to fallen Lake Mills Fire Capt. Chris Truman.
Truman was struck an killed by an alleged drunk driver while helping a stranded motorist on New Year’s Eve.
Community members lined the streets as a procession carried Truman’s body for a public visitation.
“I have a hole in my heart right now,” Lake Mills Police Chief Mick Selck told TODAY’S TMJ-4. “Not only for myself but for loved ones and this community.
Captain Truman’s body is being guarded by firefighters 24 hours until Sunday’s funeral service.
