A lawsuit has been filed by the widow of a volunteer firefighter killed in a gas explosion last July in Sun Prairie.
WISC-TV reports three civil lawsuits were filed Thursday against four companies involved in the utility work that caused an explosion, killing Fire Capt. Cory Barr.
Barr’s widow, Abby Barr, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against VC Tech, Bear Communications, USIC Locating Services and WEC Energy Group, which were doing business as WE Energies.
The lawsuit comes after Sun Prairie Police Chief Pat Anhalt announced there would be no criminal charges filed against those involved.
