The Diocese of Madison announced the death of Bishop Robert Morlino after a “cardiac event” earlier in the week.The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Morlino had been a bishop in Madison for 15 years.
In a statement, the Diocese said Bishop Morlino suffered the event during a doctor’s appointment Wednesday. He had asked that news of his heart attack be withheld to allow people to focus on Thanksgiving rather than his health.
Bishop Morlino was 71-years-old.
