A two vehicle crash led to a stretch of eastbound highway 20 to be shut down for nearly four hours this morning.
According to Mount Pleasant police, one of the cars involved in the crash ended up in a ditch and started on fire. According to the accident report, good samaritans pulled the unconscious driver out of the burning car to safety. The 31-year old man was airlifted to Froedtert Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 34-year old woman, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say driver impairment is not believed to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
