According to a published report, the outgoing police chief of Mayville, Wis. might have altered official police records.
Wiscnews.com reports that Chief Christopher MacNeill offered his resignation, which was accepted.
The publication cites a letter the mayor of Mayville shared on Feb. 9, the day MacNeill was on a leave of absence.
On March 6, the city’s council gave the mayor an OK to file a formal complaint against MacNeill.
No charges were filed as of Thursday.
