For the second straight year, the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks is being recognized for his team’s excellence.
The National Basketball Coaches Association has voted that Mike Budenholzer will share their Coach of the Year award with Oklahoma City Thunder coach Billy Donovan, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The award comes after a vote of the NBA’s 30 coaches.
Budenholzer has coached the Bucks through the coronavirus-interrupted 2019-20 season to a current record of 54-13, best in the league.
The NBA will officially have their coach of the year award after the season. Writers decide who wins that award.
Budenholzer won that prize after the 2018-19 season, when the Bucks had the NBA’s best record as well.
