A report says that the NBA has fined Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry for tampering in the wake of comments he made about New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis.
ESPN’s Malika Andrew reports that comments Lasry made, as cited by NBCSports.com, were against league rules. He faces a $25,000 fine.
Davis has been seeking a trade from the Pelicans, and there were reports the Bucks were among four teams with whom Davis would consider a long-term deal.
“It doesn’t make a difference if you’re in Milwaukee, New York or LA. The whole goal is winning. So we hope it would be players like Anthony Davis and others who want to come to Milwaukee,” Lasry reportedly said.
In response to the idea that teams like the L.A. Lakers and Boston Celtics are considering a trade for him, Lasry added, “That’s what makes it harder for us to do a (deal). We’ll see if we can figure it out”
