It took 10 innings and a walk-off win for the ages to defeat the Colorado Rockies in Game 1 of the 2018 National League Division Series.
For the Milwaukee Brewers, Game 2 was a lot easier – thanks to dominance on the mound.
A quintet of pitchers – Jhoulys Chacin, Corey Knebel, Joakim Soria, Josh Hader and Jeremy Jeffress – shut down the Rockies’ offense.
Though they gave up six hits and three walks, the group struck out 10 batters – with two of them coming after the Rockies’ only advancement to third all game long, in the seventh inning.
Meanwhile, Hernan Perez slapped a run-scoring ground-rule double in the 4th inning, and Mike Moustakas and Erik Kratz combined for three RBI’s with run-scoring singles in the 8th inning.
The Crew’s 4-0 win showed Milwaukee was not only a favorite to win their series, but also showcased their true resume as a World Series contender.
