Baseball is back!
Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training today for the Milwaukee Brewers.
“It’s all about getting those guys ready for the season, especially the starting pitchers,” Journal Sentinel Brewers beat writer Tom Haudricourt tells WTMJ. “It’s all about getting the pitchers arms built up, so that’s why they have such a long spring training.”
The rest of the squad reports to Spring Training on Sunday, which this year includes plenty of new faces.
“I think on the 40-man roster, there’s 14 players currently that came from outside the system over the winter. So that’s not normally what happens with a team that has been to the playoffs two straight years. But every so often, you do have a big winter of turnover.”
The first spring training game for the Crew is February 22 against the Oakland A’s.
