Reports say that the Milwaukee Brewers’ starting center fielder will spend time out of the lineup after undergoing a medical procedure similar to one teammate Ryan Braun has had in the past.
Numerous reports say that, according to manager Craig Counsell, Lorenzo Cain has had a cryotherapy procedure done on his right thumb.
Lorenzo Cain was in Los Angeles this morning to undergo the same cryotherapy procedure that has helped Ryan Braun in recent years. The pain in Cain’s right thumb had become too much to bear and was affecting his play, Craig Counsell said.

As described by the National Library of Medicine, “Cryotherapy is a method of superfreezing tissue in order to destroy it.”
Cain will miss Tuesday night’s game. There was no initial word on how long he might miss.
