Many Milwaukee Brewers fans have hoped to add longtime ace starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel to the rotation to help them in their effort to finally make the World Series after a 37-year wait.
It looks like Milwaukee doesn’t look to be his hopeful destination.
MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand told WFAN Radio’s Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts that Keuchel’s preferred free agency landing locale is the New York Yankees.
“What I’m hearing is there are probably three, four, five teams that are interested in Keuchel. They are all in that one-year mix, probably in the same range,” Feinsand told Benigno and Roberts.
“What I’m hearing from people is the Yankees is where he wants to go. I just find it hard to believe that if he wants to come here and they’re interested that it won’t get done one way or another.”
According to Feinsand, the Brewers aren’t even necessarily among the teams in the mix for Keuchel. The report says Atlanta, Minnesota, St. Louis and Tampa Bay are also in consideration.
In seven years, he is 76-63 with a 3.66 career ERA. Three of his last five seasons have seen him with a season-long ERA under 3.00.
