The Milwaukee Brewers' spring training for 2017 is now in high gear.
This year is expected to be a year of growth toward future contention, and a stepping stone off of two building years under the teaching of manager Craig Counsell.
“I think this is going to be a great year…we've been looking great, coming together as a team the last two years, getting ready for this year,” said pitcher Corey Knebel on WTMJ's Scaffidi and Bilstad show Wednesday.Â
He cites the veteran presence of guys like Joba Chamberlain, Neftali Perez and Carlos Torres to shore up the bullpen which he will also be part of.
“Younger team, new faces, but still, we've got those veterans, especially in the bullpen,” said Knebel.
“Those three guys are the veterans that are going to help the team out, be there for everyone.”
As far as off the field, Knebel has kept himself busy in the off-season and spring training through…stargazing?
“If there are stars, I'm a sucker for stars, looking up at the sky, especially here in Arizona.”
