Another blow for the Milwaukee Brewers ahead of the team’s playoff series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Already without starting pitcher, Corbin Burnes, the Crew will play without right-handed reliever Devin Williams, due to a shoulder injury. Williams, along with pitcher Brett Anderson, were left off the NL Wild Card Series roster.
“It’s obviously a big hit for us,” pitcher Eric Yardley told WTMJ’s Wis. Afternoon News. “He put in the work and became the best reliever, if not the best pitcher, in baseball. The numbers WiIliams put up this year were video game numbers. You wouldn’t even dream of having stats like those.”
Yardley is still confident the Brewers can knock off the number-one seeded Dodgers.
“We still have the reigning two-time Reliever of the Year, Josh Hader,” he said. “We got Corey Knebel.”
“Baseball is always the next man up mentality.”
