Some Milwaukee businesses were looted and others were damaged as peaceful protests divulged into violence overnight.
A Walgreens store near Martin Luther King Drive and Hadley Street was looted, with TMJ4 news reporters on-scene reporting seeing smoke in the building.
A Boost Mobile also on Martin Luther King Drive was looted as well.
Other businesses nearby had their windows smashed or storefronts spray-painted.
The Milwaukee Police Department says one of its officers was shot and wounded near Locust and Palmer around 3:30 a.m.
That officer, a 38-year-old man and four-year veteran of MPD, was treated for non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
Police officers in riot gear were seen surrounding the District 5 headquarters early Saturday morning.
