The NFL experienced it’s first coronavirus outbreak of the season this week.
Ten members of the Tennessee Titans have confirmed positive test results.
For Matt LaFleur, it’s a great reminder to his team.
“We need everybody to be at our best,” says the Packers head coach. “Our guys have done a great job thus far being responsible, doing the right things, putting the team first.”
“If you just look at this area in particular, the number of instances of COVID per capita is the highest in the National Football League. Our guys are well aware of that. They’ve got to be mindful of that if they are to go out, whether it’s the grocery store, a restaurant, whatever it may be. They’ve got to wear their mask and do whatever it is necessary so they don’t contract that nasty virus. All it takes is one guy to bring this whole thing down.”
The Packers are 3-0. But LaFleur says you can never become comfortable.
“We know we have a talented team coming in and a hungry team coming in. And we have to have a great week of preparation to get ready for that Monday night game.”
Green Bay welcomes the Atlanta Falcons to Lambeau Field Monday.
“We’re gonna have our hands full,” adds LaFleur. “They’re gonna be a motivated team coming in here. They really should be 2-1. We’re gonna get their best shot on Monday night.”
Packers’ WR Davante Adams and DL Kenny Clark were out for this past Sunday’s game against the Saints. LaFleur says they are day to day.
“Certainly you never want to rush a guy back. The worst thing that can ever happen to you is you have a setback. So we want to make sure that they are 100% healthy and ready to roll. If that’s the case, than we’ll cut them loose on Monday night.”
