The National Football League will cut out two of its four preseason games before the 2020 season, according to a pair of reports.
Both Mike Florio of NBC Sports and Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reported that news Wednesday afternoon. They differed on which specific weeks of the preseason would be halted, with Florio saying Weeks 1 and 4 being dropped and LaCanfora not confirming that detail.
The Packers’ current schedule includes four preseason games:
– Saturday, Aug. 15., 12 p.m.: vs. Arizona
– Saturday, Aug. 22., 3 p.m.: vs. Cleveland
– Saturday, Aug. 29., 5 p.m.: at New York Giants (changed from original time of 7 p.m.)
– Thursday, Sept. 3, 7 p.m.: at Kansas City
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL has considered possibly moving the start of the NFL regular season back.
