Pregame story
Saturday brings Packers Gameday number two of 2017. Green Bay’s on the road at Washington in the second of four preseason games.
The keys for Green Bay entering Saturday night? Number one: Stay healthy, and don’t add to the injury list that already includes cornerback Damarious Randall, center Don Barclay and rookies Vince Biegel and Malachi Dupre.
The key position battles to pay attention to include wide receiver, where both Trevor Davis and Jeff Janis look to build on the big play performance (each with big-play touchdowns in the win over Philadelphia) in week one of the preseason. Coack Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson may have a hard decision to make between them.
Also pay attention to the development of the young secondary, including draft picks Kevin King and Josh Jones. For Green Bay to have a chance at Super Bowl contention, these two may need to shed the label of rookie, and quickly.
